Kids Connect to the Classics

Kids Connect to the Classics Concert is an annual Free Family Concert held at Pennsbury High School East in Fairless Hills, PA. Collaborating with the Pennsbury Partners Program, Newtown Chamber Orchestra presents a concert for elementary aged children and their families, which includes: discussion and music performance suited to the level of the listeners; interactive audience participation; and a hands-on opportunity to touch and explore instruments of the orchestra. The intent of the concert is to enhance the educational experience of elementary school children by stimulating and nurturing the enjoyment of classical music in an appropriate orchestral setting.

Young Musicians Competition

The Newtown Chamber Orchestra continues its tradition of community outreach and education with the annual Young Musicians Competition for high school students. Some of the area's most talented young people audition for the opportunity to perform as a soloist at a NCO concert. This year's winner is violinist Dora von Trentini, who is currently a freshman at George School in Newtown. She will be the guest soloist at the next Newtown Chamber Orchestra concert. More information to follow about this extremely talented Young Musician! How to Apply for the 2012 competition.

Musicians in the Schools

This project, in collaboration with the Pennsbury Partners Program, brings NCO musicians, who donate their time, into the classroom to interact, perform and discuss music at an age appropriate level.
