Solomon Silber

Classically-trained guitarist, Solomon L. Silber will excite us with Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra, Op. 36 A Major by Giulani. This special occasion will be a “homecoming” for Mr. Silber who, at the age 17, performed as an NCO soloist in the premiere of a concerto written by his teacher, composer/guitarist Allen Krantz, and commissioned and conducted by Russell Hoffmann, Music Director /Conductor of the NCO.

Trained in the tradition of Andres Segovia by Oscar Ghiglia, Solomon’s playing aims to bring a modern energy to an old world aesthetic. A devoted interpreter of the core repertoire of Spanish, Baroque and classical music, Solomon is in demand as recitalist chamber music and concerto soloist, having performed both nationally and internationally. At the age of sixteen, Solomon performed as a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra as the only guitarist ever to win the Philadelphia Orchestra Concerto Competition. Beginning his training in classical guitar at the early age of five, and studying with some of the most accomplished artists in the field, Solomon graduated with honors from Yale University in 2014. He is currently completing the Master of Music in guitar performance at the Yale School of Music.  His discography, upcoming releases and films can be found on his website: solomonsilber.com
